The M8 is a DIY tactical smoke signal training device. There is no included ingredients that would make this an active smoke device.

The M8 smoke signal device is a cost effective, reusable, reloadable training smoke signal device that is designed for using pull wire igniters
Big name brand smoke devices are limited in size and composition. Commercial/Consumer smoke devices are great for signaling and are fantastic products, however the volume of smoke is low.
The M8 Training smoke signal device is considered homemade. The components alone are not regulated by the ATF. When the components are combined, it must be used the day of construction. When a homemade smoke device is made it is a regulated explosive. Constructing a smoke device is for personal use only. Do not sell or trade a homemade smoke device.
If you decide to store finished homemade devices they must abide by ATF/DOT storage requirements along with all State and Federal Law.
This is not legal advice. Consult an attorney.

All components available on this site are to be used by trained professionals.
Using a smoke signal device for a non emergency use in the state of Connecticut is prohibited by law.
Always take safety seriously. It is at the sole discretion of the end user to use proper PPE equipment when handling. The M8 training smoke device and smoke may get hot enough to cause burns and could possibly start fires if near flammable material.
Burning of potassium nitrate is toxic. See blow for Potassium Nitrate hazards.
Potassium nitrate (KNO3) is a strong oxidizer and can pose various health and safety hazards. It can cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract upon contact or inhalation. Ingestion of large amounts can lead to gastrointestinal issues, and it can interfere with the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity, potentially causing symptoms like methemoglobinemia. Additionally, it's important to note that potassium nitrate can intensify fires and may react explosively when mixed with certain reducing agents
The Instant Deployment and Delta 8 series DIY products use pull string igniters you create yourself that activate using friction to ignite. NFE Brand pull string igniter kits offer a 95% success rate of igniting.
The M8 kit, parts, and mixture recommendations listed in the manual are for making a smoke device ONLY and not to be used for unlawful purposes or for any other type of devices. NFE Tactical LLC is not responsible or will be held legally liable for its use in any form. Using this kit for anything other than a smoke device may result in injury or death. Using this kit may result in injury or death. The M8 kit, parts and manual are only a manufactured suggestion in the process of making a smoke device. The igniters work in a similar fashion to a match head striking against the rough surface of a match box. Except that this is a chemical kinetic reaction. The Compound B is the "match head" and the Compound A is the "rough surface". When combining the two compositions with friction a chemical reaction occurs causing them to ignite.
